The countdown to Christmas has well and truly begun, and London is buzzing with activity! We’ve made a list of all of our Christmas musts, and a bit of insider advice on the best alternative places to do them to avoid the crowds:
Classic Mince Pie
No Christmas is complete without a mince pie! We love the giant pies at Brompton Food Market in Kensington. They’re buttery and boozy and full of spiced fruit, and we think they’re some of the best you’ll find anywhere!
It’s just not Christmas until you’ve watched a festive film. With classics like ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’, ‘Home Alone’ and ‘Die Hard’, the Prince Charles Cinema in Soho is the ideal location to schedule in some movie magic. Keep an eye on their events page for Christmas specials!
Whether you’re looking for a quirky decoration for the tree, or a unique gift for someone special, you’ll find everything you need in the SMUG store in Islington. Their Christmas section is second to none, and full of the prettiest products you can imagine.
A winter favourite, mulled wine is especially good on a cold Christmassy night. We searched high and low, and found London’s best mulled wine at Drink, Shop, Do in Kings Cross. They’ve got a lot going this Christmas, so be sure to check them out. If mulled wine isn’t your thing, they’ve also got a great selection of Christmas cocktails!
Giant Christmas Tree
This one is obvious – you just have to include a visit to a giant tree in your Christmas activities! The problem with the big ones is that they’re always overcrowded and overhyped, so we stopped by some of the alternative locations, and found our favourite in Granary Square.
